Completed in1916, the lighthouse is named for the steamship California, which was wrecked nearby on September 23, 1891. It is located on Hudishibana, a hill on the northernmost point of Aruba, about 16 km (10 miles) north of Oranjestad. The tower is about 100 feet high offering spectacular views.
