Winter Harbor is an attractive town on the western side of the Schoodic Peninsular.

The name, Winter Harbor, derived from the fact that the harbor did not freeze over in winter.

The town has a population of around 516, so it is quite small.

Gouldsboro Point is in the north-eastern part of the town of Gouldsboro.

It is on the eastern border of Hancock County.
