Chesterwood (Home of Daniel Chester French), Stockbridge, MA

In 1896, French bought the 150-acre farm & 1820 farmhouse to house a summer estate & studio. He commissioned Henry Bacon to design the studio which he used for the rest of his life, though he spent much of the winter in New York City. In 1901, he hired Bacon to design a new house in the Georgian Revival style that we see today.
