Dennis, Cape Cod, MA

On my first visit to Cape Cod, we had lunch in the small village of Sesuit, on the north coast of Cape Cod.

This is the restaurant we chose, little knowing we had to eat al fresco, and I really do not like to eat outdoors.

The gulls kept a close watch on the proceedings.

Built in 1901 as a cobblestobe tower, it sits on the site of two previous wooden towers; one of which was destroyed by a gale in 1876, while the other burned down in 1900.

The tower is 9.1 meters (30 feet) tall, and is located on top of Scargo Hill.

Scargo Hill is one of the tallest on Cape Cod, standing some 49 meters (160 feet) tall.

On a clear day you can see Provincetown in one direction and the Sagamore Bridge across the Cape Cod Canal in another.
