Now disused, this is Grain elevator no. 5, on Quai de Pointe du Moulin à Vent, built in 1906. Its 206 silos mainly handled grain destined for Europe.

Designed by Canadian architect Moshe Safdie, as his architecture thesis while at McGill University, Habitat 67 is a housing complex. It was built near to the Saint Lawrence River in 1967 as a pavilion for the World's Fair held that year.

The Jacques Cartier Bridge with the La Ronde amusement park visible underneath. The park opened in 1967 and is on 146 acres on Sant Helen's Island. Since 2001, it is owned by Six Flags, though not branded as such. Among the 40 rides there are 10 roller coasters, with Le Monstre being the highest double-tracked coaster in the world at 40 meters (over 130 feet) high.

The Jacques Cartier Bridge crosses the Saint Lawrence River from Montreal via Saint Helen's Island to Longueuil on the eastern bank. Constructed between 1925 & 1930, it was called the Montreal Harbour Bridge (pont du Havre) when it opened, but that was changed in 1934. Jacques Cartier was the first explorer to travel up the St Lawrence, and came to Hochelaga (now Lachine; a borough of Montreal), in October, 1535.

Small boats in the Bassin de l'Horloge. On the extreme left is the Montreal Clock Tower (or Tour de l'Horloge) built between 1919 & 1922 as a memorial to the Canadian sailors who died in the First World War. The clock was constructed in England using a similar movement to that of the clock in the Palace of Westminster.

Two more bridges across the Saint Lawrence. Nearest to us, the Pont de la Concorde (opened in 1965) with the Pont Victoria (built between 1854 & 1860) beyond.
