Heading towards our anchorage in Douglas, Isle of Man. There is no dock for larger ships.

One of the activities we did in Douglas was to ride a portion of the Isle of Man Railway.

Our engine; number10. Built in 1905 by Beyer, Peacock & Co., she was named for the railway company's then director George Henry Wood.

The Sidings Inn in Castletwon, just next to the railway.

The Tiffin Tea Room, as it was. It seems to have become the Vintage Tea Rooms, and look very different.

We had a lovely time here with nice food, friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Sadly, it seems the tea shop is now closed.

Castle Rushen is one of the best maintained medieval castles in the U.K.

Construction started during the late 12th and early 13th centuries. Development continued up to the 16th century.

Born in Marown on the Isle of Man in 1771, Captain John Quilliam as first lieutenant on HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. Though impressed into the Royal Navy, in 1794, to midshipman, then to lieutenant. After the victory at Trafalgar, he was promoted to Captain and placed in command of HMS Ildefonso. After his retirement, he became a Member of the House of Keys.
