Alaskan Cruise - Anchorage Slide Show

After a full day at sea, crossing the Gulf of Alaska, we round the Kenai Peninsular en route to Anchorage.

The scenery is really spectacular.

Looking down 4th Avenue. The bear sits above the entrance to Grizzly's, a souvenir shop selling Alaska themed souvenirs, tee-shirts etc.

We ate here on our first two visits to Anchorage; it was closed (it was Sunday) for our third trip.

Excellent food; delectable halibut & some of the best chili I have ever had.

Examples of the dog sleds that used to be used on the Iditerod. Nowadays, they are a little more high tech; but not that different.

The Ulu Factory provides this free vintage tram from downtown Anchorage to their factory where you can buy their ulu knives. They have long been used by native Alaskans, the oldest example is over 3,000 years old.

A very rare opportunity to see Mount Mckinley from Anchorage. It is about 240 km (150 miles) away.
