The Round Stone Barn seen through the entrance to the Visitor Center.

This, and the next three pictures, show the Round Stone Barn from various angles.

Built in 1826, the barn was damaged in a fire in 1864 after which it was improved.

It was after the 1864 fire that the Shakers painted the barn in its distinctive yellow. The color was restored in 2009.

The Barn Complex. The front part is now the Discovery Center. The barn was built in 1910 on the foundation of a calf barn that was built in 1880 that burned down in 1910.

The Trustees' Office and Store. This was built originally in 1818, and progressively extended up to at least 1876. Used to receive visitors and clients from the "outside world”.

The rear of the Ice House. It faces north to keep it in shadow. The windows are all triple glazed, and double doors act like an air lock.
