Otsego County is in central New York State, to the west of Albany, southeast of Utica, and northeast of Binghamton. According to the 2010 census, the population was 62,259. As well as being the home of James Fenimore Cooper, whose father William Cooper founded it, the Village of Cooperstown is notable for both the Baseball Hall of Fame, and the New York State Historical Association museum.
