The Caribou Monument dedicated to the men of western Newfoundland who died in War. Situated in Remembrance Square (City Hall Plaza) at the junction of Main Street & West Street, the bronze statue was erected in June 2012. Morgan MacDonald sculpted the piece.

Opened on August 5th, 2011, the new City Hall houses council chambers, offices for city staff, the Corner Brook Museum, and the public library.

There are three island at the entrance to the Bay of Islands. In decreasing size they are Pearl Island, Tweed Island, and this one, the smallest, Guernsey Island; .
