A beautiful morning to arrive in Stavanger.

Tungenes fyr (Tungenes Lighthouse) is located in Randaberg on the end of the Stavanger Peninsula, about 15km (10 miles) from Stavanger. Completed in 1928, it ceased to be an active aid to navigation in 1984.

Stavanger has a lot of heavy industry; based in the oil industry, I guess.

It also has many attractive residential areas.

The little Tjuvholmen lighthouse on Tjuvholmen island about 800 meters () from the waterfront in Stavanger. It is one of three lighthouses in Norway called Tjuvholmen.

The Engøybridge crosses the Engøysundet strait. The bridge connects the islands of Sølyst and Engøy

The gray building near the center is a school. To the right is the new Stavanger Katedralskole or Cathedral School campus in Bjergsted

Stavanger Vågen is the harbour in the center of Stavanger. It caters to local boats, ferries and cruise ships.

On the left of this building on the waterfront is Sumo Restaurant Hall Toll, a well known restaurant. The Valberg tower, with its green roof, is visible to the right.

Built in the 1850s, the Valberg tower was a watchtower that was in use up until 1922. It now houses a small museum, and is available for small group parties.

This sculpture is called, appropriately, "Sau og lam" or sheep and lamb. It is by Svein Magnus Håvardstein (1942 to 2013). He was born on the island of Rennesøy, now a part of Stavanger.

We set off to do some shopping. Unfortunately, being Sunday, Stavanger was closed. We found one shop open selling tourist nonsense, and that was it!

Stavanger Cathedral, constructed during the first half of the 12th century, is the oldest in Norway.

Originally built in the Romanesque style, bishop Arne had it rebuilt in the Gothic style in 1272, following a fire that caused major damage.

The first Bishop of Stavanger was Bishop Reginald, a Benedictine monk who probably came from Winchester in Hampshire, England. The Cathedral is also known as St. Svithun's Cathedral after a 9th century bishop from Winchester who was canonized St Swithin in around 931.

Not sure about the crocodile, by on the right is 'Gutten og Andemor' (The Boy and the Mother Duck) a sculpture by Erik Haugland.

The Lysefjord was quite spectacular.

The ship cruised around the nearby fjords and took us up to the Rogaland area to see the Lysefjord suspension Bridge.

Looking south from the bridge towards Forsand as we head to our final destination; Amsterdam in the Netherlands from where we will fly home.
